I am never buying hamburger buns again. I am telling you garlic toast is the best way to eat burgers.
Not sure tonight. Nephew and I are getting the Christmas Practical Joke ready!! We do one every year.

Hello, isn't anybody cooking out there? lol Well yesterday was KFC. Too busy to cook. Not sure what tonoc will bring, but I am thinking on hors d'oeuvres. Finger foods. Rye rounds, shrimp cocktail, chipped beef dip, horseradish cheese and crackers, Wisconsin hard salami w/ bacon cheese, and meatballs. We usually do that on Sunday afternoon, but hubby has to work, Sunday, so I may do it this evening.

Today is baking day for me. Cookies, kringla, cinnimon coffee cake, nutbread in the shape of Christmas Trees, and a cake w/ pudding in it.
For supper, hubby wants Foreman burgers on garlic toast. No more burger buns for us.

Yesterday I made a pot of beef vegetable soup, for a sick friend I bought a bunch of chuck roast at Kroger on sale so in addition to the beef soup, I made Beef teriaki with mushrooms over Brown rice. It turned out really good. I also browned the rest of the beef and saved for a pot of four meat chili I am gonna make this weekend. Tomorrow we are gonna eat out...I need a fried Chicken fix...

I'm thinking of trying the spinach and pasta shells dish that Hellinois posted. It sounds good.

I was thinking for fried food, too, Nrode. I am leaning towards deep fried pork chops from Dalees.

Tonight we had Coca-Cola Pork Chops, twice-baked potatoes, green sweet peas, dinner rolls and an easy Peach Cobbler for dessert. I have also used cola in my pot roast before. It really tenderizes the meat. The mixture will not look appealing once you get it all in the pan, but once simmered down, this will make a barbecue-like sauce that is sensational and the pork chops will be ao tender, they'll practically fall apart. Coca-Cola Pork Chops 6-8 pork chops (12 to 16-oz. Coca-Cola) 1 large onion 3 Tbsp. prepared mustard 6 Tbsp. ketchup dash of pepper 1 can sliced mushrooms(or fresh) dash garlic powder Brown the pork chops on both sides. Drain. Slice onions and stir fry. Drain. Pour Coke and other ingredients in the skillet. Add the pork chops and onions back to the skillet. Simmer on low with a lid for 30-45 minutes until liquid is evaporated and a thickened sauce has formed. Serve over rice if desired. Easy Peach Cobbler 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup self-rising flour apple pie spice (or cinnamon) 1 stick (1/2 cup) melted margarine 1 large can sliced peaches Mix milk, sugar, flour, apple pie spice and melted margarine together. This will be lumpy. Add peaches in the syrup they came to this mixture. Bake about 45 minutes-1 hour on 400 degrees. This is good served warm with vanilla ice cream. I use my microwave to make the twice-baked potatoes. It is faster that way. I mix sour cream chives or green onions, black pepper and salt with the scooped out potatoes and fill the potato shells with the mixture. I top with shredded cheddar cheese and place back in microwave until cheese is melted. I have used pimentos and crumbled fried bacon in the potato mixture. YUMMY!

Well today I got up at 4:30 AM and browned a chuck roast in olive oil and put it in the crockpot with 1/2 can of beef broth and a package of onion soup mix. I will simmer in on low all day and throw in some peeled and cut up potatoes and baby carrots later.
Supper will be ready about 5 PM if anyone wants to join us.lol
